Wintour Shows Her Warmer Side
The legendary Editor in Chief of Vogue magazine, Anna Wintour, was a guest on David Letterman last week. If you missed it you really must watch as she melts away her ice queen persona with her wit and charm. She gives Letterman some style tips and even pokes fun at her reputation of being known as an “ice queen.”
She describes herself as very decisive but appreciative of creative hard working people. Letterman asks several questions about the magazine and fashion from an outsiders’ perspective. But he raised some interesting points He notices that some things were not finalized even a week before the magazine went to print. He also commented on the age of the senior staff at Vogue. He says to Wintour that he expected to see much younger people directing the magazine and was shocked to see people his age.
Wintour was on the Letterman show to talk about the upcoming documentary “The September Issue” and also “Fashion’s Night Out.” You might just see her on the streets of NYC that night.
Wintour gets a lot of criticism for being a demanding and difficult boss but at 59 years old, she has carried the Vogue brand for 21 years and is obviously doing something right.
