Style: Afrik Summer Tees

I came across this new line that hopes to grow and spread the message of not only being fashionable but being responsible. The new company took on a social cause in addition to growing a business.

Afrik, a men’s and women’s streetwear design company aims to educate and inspire by melding fashion with elements of cultural and historical significance release its new 2009 Spring/Summer line. The new sustainable line of tees and cardigans features organic cotton blend and fresh graphics.

One of the inspirations used for the tees and cardigan is the Dutch proverb “In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king”. The designers decided to materialize the Dutch phrase into a graphic tee.

“It represents one perspective about the mind set behind imperialism,” says Fritswa B, CEO of Afrik.

The Afrik line is available in Tri State area stores and online at www.afrikstyle.com.
