Rising Star: Unique

Dubbed as the new face of R&B Unique Zayas, originating from Brooklyn, is one to look for. He has built an incredible fan base without the support of a major label and opened for acts such as Chris Brown, Neyo, Tyrese, Trey Songz, Bow Wow, Ciara and Letoya Luckett. Read on to find out a little bit more about this Rising Star and check out his myspace and online television series where he takes his fans along his journey to Superstardom.

NESHA: How old are you?
Unique: I’m 18 years old

NESHA:What is your ultimate goal in life?
Unique:Geesh that’s a good one. My ultimate goal in life is to make a change in the world by making great music that can touch people.

NESHA: That’s good since music has such a huge impact on society… What things have you done to accomplish your goal so far?
Unique:I’m being a role model to the youth and letting them know as long as you stay focus and follow your dreams anything is possible! Also recently I started the “Unique Movement in Action” which is basically me using my “fame” along with my fans to make a change in the world by helping others and giving back to the community in little ways we can.

NESHA: You put “fame” in quotes…but its no secret you are well known both in the streets and the industry…so what makes you so well known for those who may not be familiar with what you have done.
Unique: Thank you! I’d definitely have to say MySpace has been a major help with spreading the word to people who may have never heard of me before I have created a fanbase of nearly 50,000 fans …and of course some people know me as the boy from Lil Mama’s Lip Gloss video. Last but not least I would hope my talent makes me known beyond everything.

NESHA: What makes you a rising star?
Unique:This has been a dream of mine ever since I can remember and I look at everyday as a stepping stone in building my career making me a rising star.
NESHA: What/who motivates you?
Unique: So many things motivate me knowing that I have fans who look up to me and are waiting for an album to be dropped wakes me up in the morning. Life motivates me knowing where I could be if I didn’t have a focus mind, and knowing where I want to be in the future.

NESHA: What projects do you have coming up?
Unique: Well currently I’m working on my album working with producers such as Rodney Jerkins “Darkchild”, ReeFa, Troy Taylor just to name a few! I’m also putting together a band so I’m excited about that.
