Producer, Woody, from the Demevolist music group released this track entitled Resurrection of Auto Tune earlier today. Download it and check it out. He raises some pretty interesting points.
With Jay-Z releasing the “Death Of Auto-tune”, I think it is important for me to give a different perspective on the usage of Auto-tune. Although I do agree with what he is saying in the song, I feel that is only one side of the story. I have been using this effect for years now in producing/mixing records, and when Auto-tune is used correctly, it can be a wonderful addition to a song. Also, the effect has been key in developing a new sound for the next generation of urban artists. Hip Hop has always been a forum for challenging the “status quo”. That being said, this is in no way intended to be a Jay diss record, simply questioning his reasons for putting out the song and promoting it as the “Death” of a program being used in the next generation of popular music.
