NYU: Voicing Your Opinion forum
It never hurts to learn something new from the experts. I went to a panel on April 4 about writing Op-Ed pieces. The speakers included experts such as Gail Collins of the New York Times, Tuku Varadarajan of the Wall Street journal, Lauren Sandler editor of assignmentzero.com, Sheryl McCarthy columnist from Newsday and USA Today, Anddrzej Rapaczynski of Project Syndicate and the moderator was Catherinr Orenstein of the New York Times. I learned a couple things and it was interesting to hear their opinions on blogging and how that effects the news opinion pieces.
interesting thing said about Op-Ed pieces–
“People are trying to figgure out how they ought to think about all the things that go on in the world.”
Challenge to the new generation–
“Figgure out ways to write on the web to bring people in and write things just as columns do in newspapers….”
Our generation is full of….
“People growing up with a paper trail…”
