Yes! Out here in the mid-west they refer to what you may know as ‘soda’ as pop. Personally, I am used to hearing people use this word in shows like Leave It To Beaver and it reminds me of being in the 1930′s. But actually the whole word for soda is soda pop.
Pop- (n.) Soda, soda pop, products such as that of Coke, Pepsi, Sprite etc. ex: “Hey we are ordering pizza, do you guys want some pop with it?”
