J. Holiday Performs At Buffalo
So, I got word (from a fellow Socialite) about J. Holiday’s performance at Club Infinity in Williamsville NY, right outside of Buffalo. A group of innovative young people from Buffalo State College started a company called “Crown Entertainment.” Look out for them, apparently they are doing big things! They brought a big name to the area to give everyone a well deserved break from work. His hit song “Bed” has been bumping everywhere from the car loud speakers to the dorm hallways.
But on the flipside I hear J. Holiday is a little freak. I guess it makes sense since he has a song with the lyrics “I wanna put my fingers thru your hair/Wrap me up in your legs/And love you till your eyes roll back/I’m tryin to put you to bed, bed, bed/I’mma put you to bed, bed, bed/Then I’ma rock your body/Turn you over/Love is war/I’m your soldier/Touching you like it’s our first time/I’mma put you to bed, bed, bed/I’ma put you to bed, bed, bed.”
He sang 4 songs, two of his own and a classic R Kelly joint (12 play) and Ginuwine’s “Anxious.” I heard his security guard had to be a little overly aggressive. He had to push one girl off the stage. All the while J. Holiday is laughing at it all and making jokes about the female ‘groupies’ in the front row. But he was egging them on sticking out his tongue during his performance a little too much and doing that AB action all R&B singers do. (Sometimes that’s the best part though.) And of course, J. Holiday announced where he was staying so afterwards several females went there to have a ‘good time.’
Despite this ecstatic reaction from the females of the crowd, I heard his gear was not on point. My source tells me he wore a white tee but it looked like it was worn before (bum status?).
Since this is not a gossip page, the lesson learned from this tid bit is as follows. As a society and young people in the midst of this world of entertainment, we get caught up in this fasciantion with the celebrity. The girls there were throwing themselves at him despite being laughed at by the object of their desire. What are we really striving after? And notice how quickly educated, motivated college young women can get slabbed with the label of ‘groupie.’ Let’s look at ourselves and ask: WHY, and HOW does this happen?
Video of JHoliday performing Bed. That boy can really sing. You can also see his security does not take ANY chances.
