Not only is she a rapper but she’s a college grad. First emerging on the music scene as an interviewer for a music site called MADonly, L.A. graduated and on one afternoon found herself in the middle of a cypher in front of LES hotspot SWAY. The video circulated across social networks because as the lone female in the cypher she held her own and then some–many proclaiming her to be the most lyrically savvy amongst the boys. Following the buzz L.A. switched gears and began pursuit of a career as an MC. This is her first project titled “The Presentation.”

The day has finally arrived, Kris Kasanova is releasing his first official project. You may not know who he is now but in due time you will. From the moment I saw this MC take the stage at the Knitting Factory two years ago I was captivated by his talent and stage presence. Since then, I’ve followed his musical journey and he’s finally solidified his debut project: The Long Way Home, to be released November 30th.
Flight Club presents the official trailer for Brooklyn-based MC, Kris Kasanova’s EP “The Long Way Home”; the full EP will release on November 30th, 2010 and has been produced, in its entirety by Ibe (production credits for Faith Evans, Keyshia Cole, Mickey Factz, Smoke DZA, and Jade to name a small few). The trailer for the EP, shot by Josh Baker, features Kasanova venturing through the streets on New York, punctuated at its end with a serious glace at a city he hopes to represent properly—very soon.

Burke. It was made an imprint label on Interscope Records in late 2007. The company’s name was coined by Howard Burke meaning, “the chosen few. ” Burke coined this term as not just a name but a summation of the talent within this group of young talented artists. Most members attended FDA high school in Harlem. Artists within Demevolist include: B/A, Show Tufli, J Means, Yung Nate, Proven, Fedel, and of course Charles Hamilton. There are also producers Shaleik, and Woody.
We definitely need to update our mixtape section on the sidebar, since so many great mixtapes have dropped in the last few weeks.
Demevolist music group released part 1 of First Order of Business today. I downloaded, listened, and I approve. All that you hear and see from this group is self created. All the production, graphics, concepts, everything comes from the great minds of these young men. I cannot wait to see what else they have up their sleeves.

My favorite track is “Got That.” The track starts off with an honest testament by Yung Nate: “Gotta excuse me my pops was never there and I was taught to be a man by my peers/ Wet behind my ears, young by name not by years, the only child growin up never taught how to share…”
